The cataplexy MAY or may not be followed by sleep, but the commentary here is not very accurate. See you tube videos by Emmanuel Mignot, an MD/PhD and Professor at Stanford who is a leading expert in this condition in dogs and in people (and discovered the primary cause of narcolepsy in both species as well!).
